While we wait for this.an MPC or any leading software sampler is ideal. NI admits this and promises an improvement in a future OS update. Don't get me started on anything that deals with tweaking the sounds and layering drums.Maschine is way behind. This is a fact.and all the users at the NI forums that use MPCs, begged them to improve in this area. I am not sure what you mean by phrase sample editing is "fast and convient" because an MPC 5000, 2500, and 1000 are all superior samplers and sample editors. You need to look no further than NI's own sampler line up. It is by far the weakest software sampler on the market compared to others in its price range.
So for anyone pro-Maschine to mention that as a plus to get one over an MPC.I simply laugh because there are so many reasons why Maschine is just another sound module to me. In general, people don't buy MPCs for their effects.especially since everyone has a DAW these days. Maschine's library isn't any more extensive or brilliant than any library that comes with NI products or any of the leading sofsamplers on the market.
Collecting gear is unproductive, it is better to bang out beats with all you have mastered. However as most on this forum use an mpc it to their advantage to use everything in their arsenal to get the best sound.
Maschine can be use just by itself without. I also use maschine as a controller for the other software in my DAW. Plus phrase sample editing on the maschine is fast and convient. The best of both worlds is recording, arranging, editing, and mixing in the daw which maschine outshines the mpc hence I don't resample or JD either maschine's library into my mpc. Of course logic and third party effects are outstanding which is common sense however, machines effects are more capable than mpcs including the 5k. Maschine has a extensive and brilliant library so you can't front on that. If one is familiar with it is a no brainer to sequence your software synth or hardware with your mpc.
